Coronavirus And Your Swimming Pool

swim in coronavirus timesThese two health organizations have been quoted as saying, “There is no evidence COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of swimming pools and hot tubs.” Regardless of this, any pool owner understands the importance of continual and proper pool water cleaning to assure the water is free of bacteria.

How is your pool and hot tub water “properly maintained?”

  1. Your pool contractor will brush the pool walls and floor
  2. Your pool contractor will test the water chemistry and add what’s needed
  3. The pool will be vacuumed
  4. The skimmer basket will be cleaned
  5. The filter will be checked and cleaned if necessary
  6. The pool pump will be tested to assure it’s operating properly. The pool pump is responsible for circulating the water throughout the swimming pool to assure the chemicals are properly circulated and that the water is pushed through the filter and cleaned then pushed back into the water.

If you have any concerns about the safety and cleanliness of your swimming pool water, give us a call. We can pay a service visit, test the water chemistry and inspect your pool equipment to assure that it’s in proper working order and that your pool water is as safe as it can be.
