Are you a grill master? Do you get a little tired of serving (and eating) ho-hum burgers, hots and chicken breast at every single backyard barbecue? We know we get tired of it. Because of that we have some recipes that will help you show off your burger skills by making stuffed burgers.
A stuffed burger is a thing of beauty. A stuffed burger will keep your friends and family talking about your skills for many backyard barbecues to come. A stuffed burger can also be a “surprise” for your dinner guests. As long as you don’t give a jalapeno stuffed burger to your Aunt who cannot tolerate hot foods you’ll be all right. A surprise burger for your guests is also a way to jump-start conversations between friends who may be strangers to one another.
Once one of them bites into that jalapeno stuffed cheddar burger and the other friend bites into his crab and bleu cheese stuffed burger — they will be talking! You may even see friends and family cutting their burgers in half or in quarters and offering to share a bite so they don’t have to make a decision on which burger to choose!
grill up stuffed burgersA burger is one of the most versatile backyard barbecue meals you can serve. You can elevate your burger by using high-end ground beef, mixing in sausage or ground pork or even ground turkey to give the burger a unique taste. You can even stuff ground turkey burgers for those friends who don’t want to eat beef.

Show Of Your Burger Skills With These Stuffed Masterpieces

If you are planning an end-of-the-year swimming pool and backyard barbecue bash consider adding stuffed burgers to the menu. Let your friends know you will be serving a variety of stuffed burgers. Let them know some of the ingredients which could include:
  • Jalapenos
  • A variety of cheeses
  • Pickles
  • Crab
  • Olives
  • Salsa
  • Bacon
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • A variety of herbs
  • Green and red peppers
  • Pickled cabbage
  • Let your imagination run wild

You can save yourself prep time and get the stuffed burgers ready before your guests arrive then grill them up — it will be a surprise to you, as well, as to who is getting which burger! Or you can set up a burger station and let your guests choose what they want their burger stuffed with. They can also help with the prep by putting their “stuffing” between two patties for you to grill up.

To really take this burger to another level offer a cocktail sauce instead of ketchup. (Cocktail sauce can be made by mixing ketchup and horseradish together)

Get everyone involved and let them make their own unique stuffed burger by setting up a burger prep bar

Make up a batch of burger, have it already formed into patties so your guests can stuff them, press them together and give them to you to cook.

Place the burgers at the beginning of the table with some plates. Then set up the ingredients including:

  • Jalapenos
  • A variety of cheeses
  • Pickles
  • Crab
  • Olives
  • Salsa
  • Bacon
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • A variety of herbs
  • Avocado
  • Green and red peppers
  • Pickled cabbage
  • Etc

Put measuring spoons in each of the ingredient bowls. You don’t want to have your guests put too much stuffing or the burger will explode in the middle and they will lose all of their stuffing!

Don’t forget to top the burgers with cheese if your guests want that, too.

Remember, just because the burger is stuffed doesn’t mean your guests won’t still want to top the burger with cheese, onions, tomato slices, lettuce and other toppings.

Warm the buns on the grill and serve.

What would you want in your stuffed burger?
